The WTF Reversal: the Midweek Reversal in Forex, Through Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
The WTF Reversal is the reversal through the herd's stops on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, after the Induction Trend from Sunday to Tuesday and the trap on Wednesday. It is the part of a midweek reversal forex traders tend to miss: not the turn, but the days of running back through what the first half of the week built. Whose stops they are is our reading, since no public book shows them.

What does the WTF Reversal look like on a chart?
It looks like the first half of the week being taken apart in order. Gold opened the week of 15 June 2026 at 4273.10 and closed Tuesday at 4330.99, 58 pips higher. We count $1 as 1 pip. Monday's high was 4369.48 and Tuesday's low 4305.76, so on our reading the sellers' stops sat over the first and the buyers' under the second.
- Wednesday. At 13:30 New York gold reached 4382.13, the high of the week, 13 pips over Monday's high. That was the Midweek Trap, half an hour before the Fed's decision. The 14:00 candle closed at 4284.19, under Tuesday's low. The 15:00 candle closed at 4264.48, under the week's open. By 15:30 gold was at 4218.81.
- Thursday. Its session opened with a bounce to 4329.86 at 22:00 on Wednesday night, 111 pips off that low and back over Tuesday's low. Then it fell all day, to 4201.15 at 15:30, and closed at 4208.88.
- Friday. At 01:00 gold reached 4121.44, 261 pips off the high in 35 and a half hours. Our candles for that Friday end at 12:45 New York, and price did not go lower before them.

Read it from the Three Seats. Retail, long since Monday, sees a fresh high, then a Fed spike to sit through, then a bounce that looks like the rescue. The market maker, on our reading, is filled and running through stops one level at a time. The observer sees the days before give way, one after another. That day's M marked up shows Wednesday closer in.
The WTF Reversal and midweek reversal forex: what is the difference?
A midweek reversal is usually read as a moment: Wednesday, a stop run, a strong move the other way. Most pages stop there, with a schematic and a note that it may extend into Thursday and Friday. The WTF Reversal is the extension. It names what happens across the days after the turn, and where that sits in the week.
So the two questions are different. "Did it turn?" belongs to the Mid-Week Reversal, the turn itself. "What is it running through, and how far has it got?" belongs here. The midweek reversal guide holds both in the whole week, and the Weekly Script gives their order.
How do you spot the WTF Reversal?
You see it afterwards, in what price went through. On this gold week Tuesday's low went on Wednesday's 14:00 candle and the week's open an hour later. Wednesday night's bounce got back over Tuesday's low, and Thursday closed under both. That describes one week, and it is not a list to expect.
Its run is toward the Week's High and Low, the biggest pool of stops on the chart. Other weeks stop sooner. On EUR/USD in the week of 22 June 2026 the rise stopped 5 pips short of Tuesday's high, as the Induction Trend page shows, and on gold in the week of 27 July 2026 Friday gave most of the rise back.
The name gives the usual days, and they slip. A turn on Thursday leaves one day to run, and a turn on Tuesday leaves more. We only draw a weekly chart when the week turned, so these are chosen examples, not a sample.
What do traders get wrong about the WTF Reversal?
Three readings cost the most.
- Taking the bounce as the end. On Wednesday night gold rose 111 pips and got back over Tuesday's low. Friday's low was still ahead, 208 pips under that bounce.
- Crediting the news alone. The high came half an hour before the Fed's decision. That does not show who knew what. It shows the order of the candles.
- Reading it as a promise. The word names a run that happened on a week that turned, and it does not say this week will. A reversal seen afterwards is not a setup, and our own test of the daily setup as a mechanical rule did not make money.
Which words does the WTF Reversal lead into?
Five sit next to it.
- The Induction Trend: the trend of Sunday, Monday and Tuesday that dumb money follows.
- The Midweek Trap: the multi-day M before the turn.
- Mid-Week Reversal: the turn itself, after the trap.
- The Week's High and Low: the pool the WTF Reversal runs for.
- The Weekly Script: the week read as a plan, in order.

Frequently asked questions
What does WTF stand for in the WTF Reversal?
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. The word names the back half of the week: the reversal through the herd's stops, after the Induction Trend from Sunday to Tuesday and the trap on Wednesday.
What is the difference between the WTF Reversal and a midweek reversal?
A midweek reversal is usually read as one moment or one day. The WTF Reversal is what happens after it: days of running back through the levels the first half of the week left behind. Forexia calls the moment itself the Mid-Week Reversal.
Where does the WTF Reversal run to?
On our reading, toward the Week's High and Low, the biggest pool of stops on the chart. Not every week gets there. On EUR/USD in the week of 22 June 2026 the rise stopped 5 pips short of Tuesday's high.
Does the WTF Reversal happen every week?
No. Some weeks keep running one way into Friday. We only draw a weekly chart when the week turned, so the examples here are chosen, not a sample. A reversal seen afterwards is not a setup, and our own test of the daily setup as a mechanical rule did not make money.
